History moment: "The Black Rock Desert is a semi-arid region (in the Great Basin shrub steppe eco-region), of lava beds and playa, or alkali flats, situated in the Black Rock Desert-High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area, a silt playa 100 miles (160 km) north of Reno, Nevada that encompasses more than 300,000 acres (120,000 ha) of land and contains more than 120 miles (200 km) of historic trails." - Wikipedia Now that we know there is a geological history theme to this restaurant, it ups the local flavor ante 10-fold. Even if they're not using local ingredients, it's still awesome that they have the passion to respect history through a pizza joint. At any rate, this joint is delicious so if you love a good pizza pie and you're in Sparks for whatever reason, BRP is a great dining decision. I went with this yummy beast and highly recommend it: CowboyPoetry - BRP's Smoked tri-tip, crumbled bacon, mushrooms, jalapeños, red onions, asiago cheese. That smoked tri-tip on top--so good!

AMAZING FLAVORS!!! great pizza and price! Must try Definitely recommend it

Black Rock Pizza is absolutely delicious! It was so hard to choose between the huge variety of pizzas, but I was not disappointed in my choice of the Pale Face. I also got the buffalo wings with Gorgonzola sauce (because what is Pizza night without wings?). The wing are crispy and the Pizza is cheesy perfection. I've never had pine nuts on a pizza but they add a great flavor. I added jalapeños and basil to my Pizza, but I have to say they did skimp a little on those (which is my only minor complaint). The employees were friendly and with such flavorful items, I will definitely be back! Pro tip: Use the butt warmers in the car to keep the Pizza hot and the drive home.

Taking mom out to a late lunch can sometimes be hard.... so pizza I decided.. Great choice. Instantly things started right when she asked for hot tea...the waitress brought her a box full of selections, and kept asking if she wanted more water! Pizza is such a personal selection. With the vast variety offered, each of us choice our own, knowing that we would have lunch the next day as well. The variety of crusts.....whole wheat, thin, thick, traditional...Sweet Italian and multi-grain. Traditional toppings then the unusual.....take the time to read the menu and mentally debate as to which one do you not want to try? They all have a northern Nevada name and feature what we call "native foods".... Appetizers have a special treat... Deep Fried Artichoke Hearts....tumbleweeds. A full beer selection awaits you as well as the basic wines. Very family oriented with lots of room for tables to be moved together for larger groups. You can sit quietly in a corner seat or get in the middle of the room for more active events.
